These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website and platform operated by The Intern Pharmacist (“we”, “us”, or “our”) at theinternpharmacist.com (the “Service”).

By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. About the Service

The Intern Pharmacist provides online educational tools for Australian pharmacy interns preparing for the Pharmacy Board of Australia oral examination and the APC intern written examination. Features may include:

• OTC consult, legal and ethical, and case scenario study materials
• Written exam quizzes and timed mock exams
• AI-powered Ask Doubts chat and oral role-play practice (including voice mode)
• Progress tracking, personalised study plans, and leaderboards
• Study partner matching, community chat, direct messages, and optional peer voice calls
• Optional pharmacist phone booking sessions for exam-prep support (when offered)
• Preceptor dashboards for authorised preceptors

We may add, modify, or remove features at any time. The Service is provided for exam preparation and educational purposes only. We do not offer jobs, visas, sponsorships, or employment guarantees.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your state or territory, to use the Service. The Service is intended for pharmacy interns, students, and related professionals in Australia. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Account registration and security

To access most features, you must create an account using email and password or Google sign-in. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate and current registration information
• Verify your email address when required
• Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account
• Not share your account with others or create multiple accounts to manipulate leaderboards or matching features

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that we reasonably believe pose a security or abuse risk (including scraping or automated misuse), or as otherwise described in these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable pharmacy, health, or privacy laws
• Upload, post, or transmit real patient information, identifiable health records, or confidential third-party data
• Harass, abuse, defame, or threaten other users in community chat, direct messages, voice calls, or study partner features
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems
• Scrape, crawl, reverse engineer, or automate access to the Service except through documented APIs we expressly permit
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including through excessive requests or malicious code
• Copy, redistribute, or commercially exploit Service content without our written permission
• Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or affiliation
• Use AI features to generate content intended to mislead examiners, impersonate patients in real clinical settings, or circumvent academic integrity rules

We may remove content, moderate community features (including with automated tools), and suspend access if we reasonably believe you have breached these rules.

5. Educational disclaimer — not professional advice

The Service does not provide medical, pharmaceutical, legal, or clinical advice. All content, including AI-generated responses, practice scenarios, quizzes, and study plans, is provided for exam preparation and general educational purposes only.

AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. You must independently verify information against current Australian references, guidelines, legislation, and your professional obligations before relying on it in practice or examination settings.

The Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of the Pharmacy Board of Australia, the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC), or any registration authority. Use of the Service does not guarantee examination success or registration outcomes.

6. AI features

Certain features use artificial intelligence provided by third-party service providers. When you use AI chat, role-play, community AI helpers, quiz or content tools, or study plan features:

• Your inputs, conversation history, transcripts, and related context may be processed by those providers as described in our Privacy Policy
• Community messages may be processed by AI for automated moderation and optional AI replies in rooms where enabled
• Outputs are generated automatically and may contain errors
• You must not submit sensitive personal information about yourself or others, or real patient data
• You retain responsibility for how you use AI-generated content

Voice-enabled practice may also use third-party speech-to-text services to convert your spoken audio into text for evaluation and feedback. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. User content

You may submit content through the Service, including chat messages, community posts, direct messages, study partner bios, profile information, practice feedback, content reports, optional images in Ask Doubts, and information you provide when booking pharmacist sessions.

You retain ownership of content you submit, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, display, and process that content solely to operate, improve, moderate, and secure the Service.

You represent that you have the right to submit your content and that it does not infringe any third-party rights or violate any law. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, branding, software, question banks, scenarios, text, graphics, and compilations, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your own exam preparation. You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from our content except as expressly permitted by us in writing.

9. Leaderboard, study partners, and community features

Participation in leaderboards, study partner matching, community chat, direct messages, and peer voice calls is optional (though some matching preferences may be suggested during onboarding). Information you choose to make visible (such as your display name, points, bio, availability, or chat messages) may be seen by other users.

Peer voice calls use browser microphone access and internet calling technologies. Call audio is exchanged between participants and may transit through relay servers needed to connect the call. We do not guarantee call quality or availability.

We do not guarantee matches, responses from other users, or the accuracy of information shared by users. Interactions with other users are at your own risk. We are not responsible for conduct outside the platform, including communications on WhatsApp or other third-party services you choose to use.

To help improve the Service, we may ask you to submit short feedback after practice sessions. In some cases, submitting required feedback may be necessary before certain practise or study features continue.

10. Preceptors, evaluators, and pharmacist sessions

If your account is linked to a preceptor through our assignment system, authorised preceptors may access certain information about you (including your name, email, rotation, progress, and study plan) for supervision and educational support. By using the Service under such an arrangement, you consent to that access.

Where we offer optional phone sessions with a registered pharmacist for exam-prep support, you may be asked to provide a phone number, session purpose, and notes. Those details are shared with our staff so we can schedule and run the call. Sessions are limited educational support and are not clinical care, tutoring retained under an employment or supervisory relationship, or a guarantee of exam outcomes.

Pharmacist evaluators who help verify educational content may provide professional registration details (such as an AHPRA number) for authenticity and quality control. That information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Subscriptions and payments

Some features of the Service are available without charge. Paid access (currently our Pro plan) unlocks additional features as described on our website and in your account. Prices are shown in Australian dollars (AUD) unless stated otherwise and may change with reasonable notice where required by law.

Paid subscriptions are processed by a third-party payment provider. By starting a paid subscription, you authorise that provider to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis according to the plan you choose (for example, monthly). We do not store your full card number on our servers; payment details are handled by the payment provider subject to its own terms and privacy policy.

You can manage billing from your profile, including:

• Opening the billing portal to update payment methods or billing details
• Deactivating auto-renewal so access continues until the end of the current paid period
• Cancelling immediately, which ends paid access when the cancellation takes effect

Unless Australian Consumer Law or another applicable law requires otherwise, fees already charged for a billing period are non-refundable, and cancelling does not automatically refund the current period. Complimentary or admin-granted access may be provided at our discretion and may not include a payment provider billing account.

If a payment fails or your subscription becomes past due, we may limit or remove paid access until payment is updated. We may also send billing-related emails (for example, payment failed, cancellation scheduled, or subscription ended). Those are service communications, not marketing.

Resit cover (Pro)

Where we advertise resit cover for Pro, the following conditions apply unless we publish updated terms on the pricing page:

• You must have held continuous paid Pro access for at least three (3) months before the relevant exam sitting
• You must notify us after a failed sitting and provide reasonable evidence of the exam outcome we request
• If approved, we may extend complimentary Pro access for a limited period we specify (for example, until the next sitting window)
• Resit cover is not a cash refund, exam-pass guarantee, or insurance product, and we may decline claims that do not meet these conditions or that we reasonably believe are fraudulent or abusive

12. Third-party services and links

The Service relies on third-party providers to help us operate features such as authentication, payments, email delivery, analytics, artificial intelligence, speech-to-text, hosting, and peer voice calls. Optional messaging or community links you choose to open (for example WhatsApp) are also third-party services.

We may change providers from time to time. Your use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party websites, services, or content. More detail about categories of providers and the personal information they may process is in our Privacy Policy.

13. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Service, you consent to those practices.

14. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may perform maintenance, update content, or modify features without notice. We are not liable for temporary unavailability or changes to exam formats, legislation, or reference materials that may affect the relevance of study content.

15. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account deletion by contacting privacy@theinternpharmacist.com. Account deletion is handled manually on request; there is currently no self-serve deletion button in the app.

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.

Ending your account does not automatically cancel a paid subscription. Cancel or deactivate billing in your profile (or the billing portal) before or when requesting deletion, unless we agree otherwise.

16. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, that content is current or complete, or that AI-generated outputs are correct.

17. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our directors, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or examination outcomes arising from your use of the Service.

Where liability cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law, our liability is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the Service or paying the cost of having the Service supplied again. If you use a paid subscription, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim arose, except where a higher limit is required by law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee or other right you may have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or equivalent state or territory legislation that cannot lawfully be excluded.

18. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any law or third-party rights, except to the extent caused by our negligence or wilful misconduct.

19. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia for any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections in your state or territory.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when they were last revised. Material changes will be posted on the Service and, where appropriate, notified by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
